In addition to our work in public education and advocacy, CRTP occasionally conducts independent research and literature reviews that are directly relevant to transportation-related challenges facing North Coast communities. For example, we’ve produced a report documenting the urgency of addressing climate chaos, the traffic safety crisis, and the rise of autonomous vehicles in Humboldt County. We also published a review of relevant transportation and place-making literature along with recommendations for the Arcata Plaza, and we produced the first rigorous analysis of the likely impacts of the Richardson Grove & Smith River Canyon highway expansion projects on regional truck traffic.
CRTP staff and volunteers are also available for collaborations with local researchers and students. We can provide assistance with data collection and analysis as well as local expertise on transportation issues. If you’re interested in collaborating with CRTP, please contact Executive Director Colin Fiske at colin@transportationpriorities.org.
